I have always worked with wool. Setting up Turnip House Knitwear with my husband, John, in 1987, making wool sweaters, hats and felt jewellery.
I have been felt making since 2001, creating bags, hats, vessels, brooches and 2D pieces for sale in the Turnip House.
I have been delivering 1 day felt-making courses at the Turnip House since 2006 and run 1 Day courses in places such as Down Arts, Ards Arts and Glebe House since 2007.
During Newcastle Arts Festival, as one of 6 Crafters providing workshops I worked with 70 children to make felt pens. Recently I have developed a 10 week course for Ards Arts and a 6 week course for Glebe House.
I am a member of Feltmakers North since 2011, Feltmakers Ireland, and the International Feltmakers Association.
In April 2013 I showed pieces in Feltmakers North ‘Transformation’ exhibition at the Island Arts Centre, Lisburn.
I am based in County Down, and am a partner in Turnip House with my husband John.
We are open 7 days a week in July and August 11am to 5pm.
From September we are open every Saturday and Sunday, or by appointment.
We are only 1 hour from Belfast or 2 from Dublin, situated in the heart of the Mournes AONB.
